Two Guides, One For Each Of You
Your child works with their own guide. You work with yours. They are deliberately different people, and that is the point.
A young person will not speak freely to an adult who reports back to their parents. And parents will not be honest about their own part in it with someone their child depends on. Giving each of you your own guide is what makes it possible for both of you to be honest.
Both guides work under a lead guide, who holds the shape of the whole engagement, notices when something needs to shift, and brings in a specialist when one is needed.
You also have an account manager. They are your first point of contact for anything to do with the engagement itself: how it is going, what it costs, what needs to change. The lead guide owns the work. The account manager owns everything around it. You will always know which one to ask.

02

Support For Parents Is Included
The price is for the young person. Support for parents comes with it, at no additional cost.
Parents have their own guide and their own sessions, up to one a week. There is no separate package to buy and no upgrade to ask about. It is part of the work, because in most families it has to be.

03

What We Will Not Tell You, And Why
We will not tell you what your child talks about in their sessions. Not the themes, not a summary, not our impressions. We will tell you that sessions are happening. Everything else stays between your child and their guide.
We are telling you this now, before you decide anything, because it is the part parents find hardest. Told up front, it makes sense. Discovered later, it feels like something was kept from you.
There is one exception. If there is a genuine, serious and imminent risk of harm to your child or to someone else, we will say what needs to be said. And we will tell your child to their face that we are doing it, rather than going behind their back.

What This Is Not
This is guiding, listening and mentoring.
It is not psychotherapy, counselling, psychological treatment, behavioural intervention, medical care, diagnosis, educational assessment, crisis support or psychiatric services. No clinical relationship is created, and our guides are not clinicians. Taking part does not replace professional medical, mental health, educational, legal or healthcare advice.
Where a young person needs clinical care, we say so, and we help them find it.
This is not a crisis service
If you or someone you care about is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services now.
If something urgent comes up during an engagement, your guide stays with the person, contacts the designated emergency contact immediately and marked urgent, and gives them the crisis line for their country. Guides do not try to resolve a crisis themselves, and they do not leave someone alone in one

Divergent Guides is not a crisis service. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services. CRISIS LINE CONTACTS TO BE SUPPLIED
